About the Film:
Project “Children of the Sun” is an original fictional staged trailer for an Alexandrinskiy theater play based on the play by Maxim Gorky. Russia, late 19th century, Cholera Riots are breaking out in the villages, peasants are claiming their rights. Protasov is a self-taught professor. He gets excited by the events and he feels the shift in people’s minds. He predicts the emergence of a new Übermensch. He’s sure that his recent laboratory creation, a living being, will pan out and will become the dawn of a new age.
Director Biography:
Dmitry Yushkov. Director, Playwright. Some of the plays were staged at the Alexandrinsky Theater (St. Petersburg, Russia), Bolshoi Drama Theater (St. Petersburg, Russia) Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (Germany). Producer and director of web projects in social networks (YouTube, Twitch). Since 2019, the founder of the video production (Yushkov Production), specializes in creating commercial and art videos.
The Best Film of the Month has the Official Selection to Golden Eagles AWARDS and guaranteed screening in the cinema.The rest films for the live screening jury will select from all Winners during a year. We will present the full list of selected films until the Notification Date.
