Best Film of the Month
TITLE: Last Tree Standing
DIRECTOR: Agnes Peel-McGregor
About the film:
A dark fairy tale set against a dystopian backdrop, that follows the story of a young girl named Lexie, who befriends a magical creature – half man, half tree.
Director Statement
The film is also a tale of tolerance. The fantasy aspect of one of the main characters, who is half-man and half-tree, touches on the problem of our attitude towards anyone and anything that’s different or unknown. It assures us that being unique is a beautiful part of nature itself.
I hope the film’s message, which lies beneath the surface of this dark fairytale, will bring about a reflection through the audience it reaches.
The Best Film of the Month has the Official Selection to Golden Eagles AWARDS and guaranteed screening in the cinema. The rest films for the live screening jury will select from all Winners during a year. We will present the full list of selected films until the Notification Date.
